"If I waited for perfection, I would never write a word."
- Margaret Atwood
Here's the plan...
In my Literacy Narrative, I intend to address the theme, focus, and meaning of the story. The theme, focus, and meaning will direct the reader towards the primary insight. By telling the story clearly and in an exciting way, I hope my reader will feel as though they were there with me.
As I discovered in my looping activity, my primary insight is the outlet for self-expression and creativity that writing gave me. When I discovered writing, I felt as though I had a reawakening. I finally had a way to turn my thoughts into words. My love for writing was found during the event I will write about in my Literacy Narrative. I hope when the readers reach the end of my story; they feel inspired to find or continue using their outlet for creativity and self-expression.
First Paragraph:
In my first paragraph, I will be using interesting facts and details that will intrigue the reader. I will also include the story's primary focus, significance, and background to create a comprehendible story. By setting the scene in the first paragraph, the reader will have the story's synopsis and understand further details better as they read.
Body Paragraphs:
In my second and third paragraphs, I will explain the climax, setting, and important characters. The body paragraphs will give the reader the sensory details they need to reach the primary insight. By using metacognition, I can reflect on this past event and elaborate on as many details as I can remember to create a compelling story.
Though this event took place a long time ago, I hope to use meditation or memory exercises to assist my mind while I try to remember all the details. As I discovered in previous writing exercises, you can help your brain recollect feelings or thoughts you had that day. I am not expecting to remember every detail or feeling as this event took place several years ago, but I hope to dig as far as I can into my mind to find as many elements I can to add to my story.
Conclusion:
In my conclusion paragraph, I will end my Literacy Narrative. I will clarify the primary insight of the story by reflecting on the importance of the event. Anything I learned from the event will be analyzed in the concluding paragraph. When the reader reaches the final paragraph, they will understand the story's primary insight and why this event has shaped me to be the writer I am today.
